One Woman, Many Grammatical Errors

Dear Emerson,
Sometimes life reminds you it’s time to slow down.  Yesterday was a pretty crappy day.  By 5:30pm I realized I wasn’t going to get to see you before you went to bed b/c some stupid vendor on the west coast was late and i had to speak with her before my client bit mama’s head clean off.  I was bummed, but knew it would be better to just get it done so that I could concentrate on you and Daddy more later in the week vs dragging it out.
At 7:00pm, as Daddy was putting you to bed I finally packed up and left the office.  I stopped on the way home to get us dinner, but first made an extra stop to get Daddy his much loved coconut water.  It’s a good thing I did b/c I realized my wallet was no where to be found.
Now here’s the thing.  Mama’s a bit scattered these days.  I have started this really bad habit of pulling the wallet out at lunch and not putting it back IN my purse, but instead leaving it on my desk.  I’ve at least gotten to double checking my desk before I leave.  I assumed that I had just missed it, and I decided to head back to the office to grab it and it’s a good thing I did.
My wallet was no where to be found.  After wracking my brain the last place I remmeber it was in our kitchen at the office while I ate.  I spoke with the cleaning crew guys who were thankfully still here.  They hadn’t seen it, but told me they’d check the trash just in case.
Turns out I was in such a rush after lunch yesterday to get on yet another call that I actually threw my entire wallet out.  Thankfully I went back to the office, and thankfully I talked to the crew, and thankfully they are good honest guys who are sweet enough to go through the trash for me.  Above and beyond I tell you.
It’s a reminder to slow down.  Just this morning you showed us your new word…..”no”.  Lord help us all.  I’m down shifting as best as I get my sweet girl.  While I’m glad when I do have to be gone you have Daddy with you, I don’t want to miss a minute with you.
I’m selfish like that.
Love,
Mama
